Who we are

This website is run by The Steel Yard Gym & Fitness (“The Steel Yard”, “we”), 20 North Street, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1NL. We are the controller of the personal information you send us through this website. Contact us about privacy atThesteelyardgym@yahoo.com.

What we collect and why

When you send an enquiry or ask for a free tour we collect:

We use this only to respond to your enquiry and help you join if you want to. We do not use it to send you marketing. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before you enter into a membership contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

Joining online

The “Join now” buttons take you to our membership provider’s secure sign-up site (Ashbourne Management). Their privacy notice applies to information you give on that site.

Who handles your information

When you send an enquiry, the website emails it straight to The Steel Yard’s business inbox (hosted by Yahoo). The website itself does not keep a copy. The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which also sends the enquiry email and provides our spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile). These providers act on our instructions. Some may process data outside the UK under recognised safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for up to 12 months and then delete them, unless you become a member, in which case your membership records are handled separately.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile may use strictly necessary technical data to tell people and bots apart when you submit the form.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict its use. Contact us at Thesteelyardgym@yahoo.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
